Roshan Shrestha

My name is Roshan Shrestha, and I’m an investigative journalist from Nepal. I was born on October 14, 1996, in a small village called Hundung in Bahrabise Municipality-7, Sindhupalchok. I come from a humble farming family, and like many kids in rural Nepal, my early life was shaped by simplicity, struggle, and dreams of change. I did my early schooling up to Grade 3 in my own village, and later studied from Grade 4 to 12 at Shree Bachchhala Devi Higher Secondary School in Nagpuje. Life wasn't easy, but those experiences gave me the lens through which I now view the world — real, raw, and rooted in truth. I passed my Grade 12 during the 2015 earthquake, and that period became a turning point in my life. Instead of chasing opportunities in the city, I returned to my village and started working closely with my community. Over time, I began raising my voice for farmers, rural development, and social justice. That voice slowly turned into reporting. In 2077 B.S., I started making videos on local issues, and by 2078, I founded Khoj Samachar — an independent digital platform dedicated to honest, fearless journalism. I'm also the creator of the Roshan Shrestha App, a verified news and civic information app that's been downloaded by over 100,000 users, with more than 10,500 five-star reviews. It’s not just an app — it’s a way to reach people with real stories, real news, and real tools. My focus has always been on truth. I regularly speak about the current political situation in Nepal — not just what's happening on the surface, but the behavior, intention, and manipulation behind it. I highlight how politics is actually flowing, and why people should rise against injustice and unethical practices. Through my content, I try to reflect the true colors of politics and politicians, without fear or favor. My goal is simple — to inform, inspire, and ignite the spirit of awareness in people, especially the younger generation. Journalism for me isn’t just a job. It’s my way of being useful to society — one voice, one video, and one truth at a time.
