Claus D. Volko
Born in 1983, I was a creative kid who spent most of his time drawing cartoons. My passion for computers began a couple of weeks before my sixth birthday when I got a Commodore 64. I was fascinated by computer games and from then on mostly spent my spare time inventing new games and creating sketches of my ideas. When I was eight years old I taught myself programming and ultimately implemented some of my games. Then I got distracted from my original endeavour because I also enjoyed writing a lot and first became a regular contributor to various computer magazines, then the editor of my own mag (Hugi). I made Hugi from 1996 to 2014, investing more than 20 hours of work per week. In 2008 I took a term off from my studies to develop an engine of turn-based, tactical role-playing games, which later laid the foundation for my Mega Force series. In the following years I created several more games and released them as freeware. I'm also interested in science and maintain the website 21st Century Headlines. From 2013 to 2016 I was a member of Dr. Uwe Rohr's research group and co-authored several papers about medical science. Besides, I'm very good at solving logical puzzles and even qualified for membership in the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry. Although I already knew what I wanted from life when I was very young, it took me a long time to find to myself because of all the distractions...
